Embarked Sydney, 10 June 1918, as Trooper, 3rd General Service Reinforcements (Egypt), New South Wales; disembarked Suez, 17 July 1918, and marched into Central Training Depot, Moascar.

Marched out to Engineers Training Unit, 2 September 1918, and allotted to Engineers.

Taken on strength, 2nd Field Squadron Engineers, in the field, 7 September 1918.

Embarked Beirut on board HS 'Dunluce Castle', 26 October 1918; disembarked Alexandria, 28 October 1918, and admitted to 14th Australian General Hospital (malaria); discharged, 21 January 1919, and granted 14 days' leave.

Admitted to 14th Australian General Hospital, from leave, 3 February 1919 (debility).

Commenced return to Australia from Suez on board HT 'Euripides', 15 March 1919; arrived Melbourne, 20 April 1919, for onward travel to Sydney; discharged (medically unfit), Sydney, 13 June 1919.
