War service: Egypt, Western Front Embarked Melbourne, 21 November 1917; disembarked Suez, 15 December 1917. Embarked Alexandria, 8 January 1918; disembarked Taranto, Italy, 13 January 1918. Admitted to hospital, Cherbourg, France, 22 January 1918 (no further details recorded). Proceeded to England (date not recorded), and marched in to 6th Training Bn, Fovant, 13 February 1918; allotted letter 'A' to Regimental Number owing to duplication. Admitted to Group Hospital, Fovant, 26 April 1918; marched in to Command Depot, Hurdcott, from hospital, 16 May 1918. Proceeded overseas to France, 20 May 1918; taken on strength, 24th Bn, in the field, 28 May 1918.
