Admitted to 17th General Hospital, Alexandria, 29 September 1915 (synovitis, left knee); transferred to Convalescent Camp, Mustapha, 2 October 1915. Found guilty, 17 October 1915, of being being drunk and creating a disturbance in camp: awarded 7 days confined to camp. Rejoined unit, Sidi Bishr, 17 October 1915. Admitted to 3rd Australian General Hospital, Cairo, 9 March 1916 (not yet diagnosed); transferred to No 1 Auxiliary Hospital, 16 March 1916 (injured left knee).
