War service: Western Front Embarked Melbourne, 11 May 1917; disembarked Devonport, England, 20 July 1917, and marched in to Army Service Corps Training Depot, Parkhouse. Proceeded overseas to France, 7 November 1917; taken on strength, 3rd Divisional Train, in the field, 14 November 1917. On leave to United Kingdom, 10 October 1918; rejoined unit from leave, 24 October 1918. Admitted to 10th Field Ambulance, 20 January 1919 (accidental fracture, right hand); transferred to 3rd Australian General Hospital, 21 January 1919; discharged to duty, and rejoined unit, 24 January 1919. On leave to Paris, 7 April 1919; rejoined unit from leave, 21 April 1919. Admitted to 11th Field Ambulance, 25 April 1919 (old injury), and transferred same day to 3rd Australian General Hospital; to England, 29 April 1919, and admitted to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 30 April 1919.
