Admitted to Military Hospital, Parkhouse, 11 April 1917 (mumps); discharged to duty, and rejoined Bn, 29 April 1917.

Proceeded overseas to France, 19 June 1917; joined 48th Bn, in the field, 9 July 1917.

Wounded in action, 11 July 1917 (shell wound, head and knee), and admitted to 13th Australian Field Ambulance.

Died of wounds, 11 July 1917.
