Admitted to 8th Australian Field Ambulance, Serapeum, 2 February 1916 (influenza); transferred to No 2 Field Ambulance, 3 February 1916; to No 1 Australian Casualty Clearing Station, 4 February 1916; to No 2 Australian Stationary Hospital, Ismailia, 4 February 1916 (strained muscle); by No 4 Hospital Train, 14 February 1916, and admitted same day to No 3 Auxiliary Hospital, Heliopolis; discharged to duty, 4 March 1916; rejoined Bn, Serapeum, 11 March 1916.

Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 20 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 30 March 1916.

Admitted to Australian Hospital, Wimereux, 13 April 1916 (mumps); transferred to No 5 Convalescent Camp, 1 May 1916; to No 3 Canadian Hospital, 9 May 1916 (influenza); to 1st Convalescent Depot, 1 June 1916; to Base Depot, 16 June 1916.
