Meritorious Service Medal

'For continuous good work and devotion to duty during the period 25th February to 16th September 1918, as Orderly Room Sergeant. During the HAMEL offensive Battalion headquarters was heavily shelled for several long periods, this N.C.O. by his willingness and cheerfulness under all circumstances, set a splendid example to all he came in contact with. His work is always of the highest order.'
