Military Medal 'During the attack East of VILLERS BRETONNEUX, near AMIENS, on August 8th 1918, this man was always the first to rush a trench, and one occasion he rushed forward and knocked out a machine gun that was holding up the troops on his flank. He then worked along the trench, bombing dugouts, and captured four prisoners single handed. He finally assisted materially in capturing several artillery men and a field gun.'
