War service: Egypt, Gallipoli, Western Front Found Guilty, 28 August 1915, of stealing a case of whisky: sentenced to 90 days' imprisonment with hard labour.; sentence suspended, 15 October 1915; remitted as from 8 July 1916. Found Guilty, 2 October 1915, of using a boat at Lemnos without the permission of the local owner: awarded 40 days' Field Punishment No 2. Found Guilty, France, 14 June 1916, of being drunk and threatening an NCO: awarded 14 days' Field Punishment No 2. Tried by Field Genera; Court Martial, 13 June 1918. Found Guilty of stealing champagne belonging to a French civilian woman. Sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude.
