Wounded in action, 28 January 1917 (gun shot wound, left shoulder); admitted to 10th Australian Field Ambulance, 29 January 1917, and transferred to 1st Casualty Clearing Station; to Ambulance Train No 24, 30 January 1917, and transferred to 14th General Hospital, Wimereux, 31 January 1917; to England, 5 February 1917, and admitted to County of London War Hospital, Horton, 6 February 1917 (wound: severe); discharged on furlough, 16 March 1917, to report to Training Depot, Perham Downs, 31 March 1917.
