Military Medal 'On the 8th August, 1918, during the attack on the enemy's positions east of HAMEL, this N.C.O. displayed great bravery and devotion to duty. He helped to organise a few men and with his Company Commander attacked a battery position of two 4.2 guns, which in addition to opening fire at point blank range, were protected by two machine guns. The guns were captured and 4 Officers and 30 other ranks taken prisoners. He set a excellent example of bravery and devotion to duty.'
