Military Medal 'Is brought under notice for the very fine work performed by him throughout the attack on the HINDENBURG Line near REINCOURT on the morning of the 11th April, 1917. He displayed absolute fearlessness in advancing to the second objective through uncut wire, and it was in a great measure due to his splendid example that so many men attained to the second objective in this way. he was among the last at all times to retire along the trench when the enemy started to overwhelm our men on account of lack of bombs and ammunition. He was instrumental in repulsing with heavy loss many heavy bombing attacks by the enemy. His devotion to duty and coolness whilst under heavy bombing was magnificent. He is strongly recommended for distinction.'
