'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the operations near YPRES from 20th to 23rd September 1917, Driver CALVERT drove a motor ambulance from the A.D.S. to the CULVERT and BIRR Cross Roads, often under heavy shell fire and through barrages. His cheerful example in volunteering for extra work, and his personal disregard of danger did much to amintain a good service of Motor Ambulance evacuation between these two points.'
