Military Medal

'During the attack on BROODSEINDE RIDGE east of YPRES on 4th October, 1917, this man showed pluck and devotion to duty after being badly shaken by shellfire. It was mainly due to his guidance and grit that ammunition and stokes ammunition requisitions for the front line reached their destinations. In spite of heavy shelling this man stuck to his job, continually passing over the area where most casualties were inflicted. By his careful guidance, fewer casualties were inflicted and the front line supply maintained.'
