Found guilty, District Court Martial, 2 August 1915, of while on Active Service striking his superior officer; being in the execution of his duty: awarded imprisonment for 60 days without hard labour, and to be discharged with ignominy from His Majesty's Service.

Commenced return to Australia from Suez on board HT 'Aeneas', 31 October 1915; arrived Melbourne, 26 November 1915 (sentence no longer required); discharged, Melbourne, 26 November 1915.
