Military Medal 'During the operations East of YPRES East of YPRES 20th/21st September 1917 Private CAMPBELL volunteered for Stretcher work at a time when severe casualties were being sustained. he went back to the rear with as many as 23 cases and spared himself in no way in his endeavours to render assistance to his wounded comrades. The value of this work cannot be overestimated.'
