Military Medal 'On the 24th/25th April 1918, North East of CACHY near VILLERS BRETONNEUX, Private CAMPBELL was Stretcher Bearing from the R.A.P., and he was continuously engaged in carrying wounded over heavy ground which was swept by shell and machine gun fire. Though wounded on the night of the 24th April 1918 he refused to leave his squad, carrying on his work with the greatest courage and endurance till ordered off duty by his Officer commanding. his fine example was a great encouragement to the rest of the bearers at a time when their endurance was strained to the utmost pitch.'
