War service: Western Front Embarked Sydney, 8 August 1917; disembarked Liverpool, England, 2 October 1917. Marched in to No 3 Details Camp, Parkhouse, 3 October 1917. Proceeded overseas to France, 14 November 1917; marched in to 1st Anzac Corps Depot, 13 December 1917. Attached to 2nd Tunnelling Company, 12 February 1918. Wounded in action (gassed), 28 February 1918, and admitted to 57th Field Ambulance; transferred 47th General Hospital, Le Treport, 2 March 1918; to England, 13 March 1918, and admitted to Bath War Hospital, 14 March 1918; to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 28 March 1918; discharged on furlough, 2 April 1918, to report to No 4 Command Depot, Hurdcott, 16 April 1918. Marched out to Overseas Training Brigade, 3 May 1918. Proceeded overseas to France, 25 May 1918; rejoined unit, 3 June 1918. On leave, 3-17 March 1919. Marched out to England for return to Australia, 30 May 1919.
