On the night of 24th/25th April, 1918, and on 25th April, 1918, when the Brigade was at CORBIE, he performed excellent work in connection with the maintenance of lines forward from Brigade to four Battalions in line. During the period mentioned these lines were cut a number of times by enemy artillery fireman spite of the heavy H.E. and gas bombardment taking place at the time, he displayed persistence and energy in his work together with a total disregard for danger. his courage and zeal were an excellent example to others, and largely contributed towards the communications being almost continuously maintained.'
