Found guilty, 10 August 1917, of being absent from billet after 9 pm and not in possession of a pass: awarded 4 days' Field Punishment No 2. On leave to England, 28 January 1918; found guilty, 15 February 1918, of failing to catch the leave train at Victoria Station, 11 February: awarded 7 days' confined to barracks and loss of 4 days' pay; rejoined unit from leave, 12 February 1918. Wounded in action, 17 April 1918 (gassed); admitted to 55th Field Ambulance, 18 April 1918, and transferred to 41st Casualty Clearing Station; to 3rd Stationary Hospital, Rouen, 19 April 1918; to 72nd General Hospital, Troville, 3 May 1918; to 1st Convalescent Depot, Havre, 4 May 1918; to Base Depot, Havre, 17 May 1918; rejoined unit, in the field, 4 June 1918.
