Military Medal 'Is recommended for good work during the operations near ZONNEBEKE on 26th September, 1917. By his machine gun fire he dispersed parties of the enemy in a gap between the 4th and 5th Division fronts, being at the time subjected to heavy machine gun fire and fire from aircraft. He set a splendid example of courage and determination. He is recommended for the Military Medal.'
