Found guilty at Field General Court Martial held at Lemnos Island, 27-29 December 1915, charged with: (1) absenting himself without leave in that he at Aerodrome Camp, Heliopolis, Egypt, when his company assembled at 10:55 pm on, 3 September 1915, was absent and did not rejoin unitl reporting with reinforcements at Lower Cheshire Ridge, Gallipoli Peninsula, 24 October 1915: to take rank and precedence as if his appointment to the rank of Sergeant before, 29 December 1915; quashed, 14 February 1916.

Disembarked, Alexandria, Egypt, from Mudros, 10 January 1916 (general Gallipoli evacuation).

Proceeded to join the British Expeditionary Force, 16 March 1916; disembarked, Marseilles, France, 21 March 1916.

Admitted to 2nd Casualty Clearing Station (callous on feet), 4 April 1916; discharged to duty, 9 April 1916.

Admitted to 6th Field Ambulance (influenza), 9 May 1916; to 2nd Divisional Rest Station, 11 May 1916; discharged to duty, 22 May 1916.

Admitted to General Hospital (sick), 13 July 1916; returned to duty, 14 July 1916.

Found guilty at Field General Court Martial, 23 July 1916, of (1) drunkenness: reduced to the rank of Corporal.
