'On 1st September, 1916, near POZIERES, Private CASSIDY went across the open under very heavy shell fire and treated Private CELANTANO who was badly wounded. He then with other stretcher bearers carried this man to the nearest aid post. On many other occasions Private CASSIDY showed great bravery and devotion to duty. His work was really outstanding.'
