Attended course of instruction at Signal School, 5-21 December 1917: qualified as Assistant Instructor of Signalling. Promoted ER Corporal, 29 December 1917, and taken on strength of Permanent Cadre, 3rd Training Brigade, Codford. Reverted to Private, 1 October 1918, and transferred to 30th Bn. Commenced return to Australia from Southampton on board HT 'Kashmir', 9 March 1919; disembarked Sydney, 2 May 1919; discharged (termination of period of enlistment), Sydney, 1 June 1919.
