Military Medal 'On 25th March, 1917, near LAGNICOURT and on 29th March, 1917, near LOUVERVAL - on both occasions this N.C.O. was one of a reconnaissance patrol sent out towards these villages before which the infantry advance had been held up. The patrols came under heavy rifle and machine gun fire but succeeded in carrying out the reconnaissances successfully and returned with valuable information as to location and strength of the enemy. Sergeant CHAMBERS showed great dash and good leadership and throughout set a fine example to his men. On both occasions his horse was shot under him.'
