Military Medal 'At HERLEVILLE during operations on 23rd August, 1918, he was acting as Signaller to F.O.O. Party. He continually repaired lines and returned for more wire under heavy Machine Gun and Artillery fire, thus enabling his officer to send back most valuable information, during the entire operations this Gunner displayed the greatest coolness and utter disregard for danger and is deserving of the highest of praise.'
