Embarked Sydney, 25 November 1917; disembarked Devonport, England, 29 January 1917. Proceeded overseas to France from 8th Training Bn, Hurdcott, 23 July 1917; taken on strength, 35th Bn, 12 August 1917.

Wounded in action, 14 October 1917 (gun shot wound, ankle, right arm, left lower lip), and admitted to 11th Australian Field Ambulance; transferred same day to 3rd Australian Casualty Clearing Station; to Ambulance Train, 15 October 1917; to 10th General Hospital, Rouen, 16 October 1917; to England, 6 November 1917, and admitted to Central Military Hospital, Winchester, 7 November 1917 (shrapnel wound and severe bronchitis); to 1st Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, 9 January 1918; discharged on furlough, 15 January 1918, to report to No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 29 January 1918.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Ruahine', 12 May 1918; disembarked Sydney (date not recorded); discharged Sydney, 29 November 1918.
