'Warrant Officer D.L. CHESSELL, Headquarters 3rd Australian Division, has served in the General Staff Office, since the arrival of the Division in FRANCE. Since 20th September, 1917, he as been the Senior Clerk, and has carried out his duties in a most satisfactory and painstaking manner. The preparation incidental to the Division's participation in the Third Battle of YPRES imposed a severe strain on the Clerical Staff, and the highly efficient manner in which the staff performed its duties was largely due to the energy and cheerfulness displayed by W.O. CHESSELL. This Warrant Officer's services and devotion to duty are deserving of special recognition.'
