Military Medal 'At HANEBEKE WOOD on 20th September 1917 this man throughout the whole action as a Company Stretcher Bearer showed wonderful devotion to duty. he, from time to time, under severe enemy shell fire, moved about in the enemy fire attending to wounded. He was carrying constantly throughout the whole day and showed absolute disregard for personal safety. His example of courage and determination inspired all those who saw him.'
