Distinguished Conduct Medal 'On two separate occasions during the attack east of Mont St. Quentin, on 2 September, 1918, when machine guns were causing great trouble, he rushed the enemy posts single handed, each time putting the gun out of action. When his section became casualties, he collected a few men and led them against enemy posts inflicting many casualties.'
