Embarked Hobart, 8 August 1916; disembarked Plymouth, England, 30 September 1916, and marched in to 10th Training Bn, Codford.

Proceeded overseas to France, 23 November 1916.

Appointed Lance Corporal, 4 December 1916.

Admitted to 10th Field Ambulance, 30 December 1916 (scabies); transferred to 1st Canadian Casualty Clearing Station, 3 January 1917 (pediculosis); discharged to duty, 4 January 1917; rejoined unit, in the field, 4 January 1917.

Wounded in action, 31 January 1917 (gun shot wound, head and shoulder), and admitted to 9th Field Ambulance, and transferred to 2nd Australian Casualty Clearing Station.

Died of wounds, 6 February 1917.
