War service: Egypt, Gallipoli, Western Front Taken on strength, 1st Field Artillery Brigade, 12 September 1914; 2nd Field Artillery Brigade, 12 November 1915. Wounded, 12 December 1915 (gunshot wound, right eye and right shoulder; blinded in the right eye). Returned to Australia, 28 January 1916. Re-enlisted, and re-embarked, 2 October 1916.
