War service: Rabaul, New Guinea Embarked Sydney on board SS 'Melusia', 13 June 1918. After arriving from Kokopo transferred to 'C' Company and seconded for duty to the Government Stores, 10 August 1918. Returned to duty and seconded for duty in the Department of K.H.M. Rabaul, 1 March 1919. Returned to duty from here and proceeded to Kokopa, 2/3 September, 1919. Given furlough to Australia and to return, 9 September 1919, sent overseas to Australia, 20 September 1919. Returned from furlough in Australia and seconded for duty in Department of K.H.M., 22 November 1919.
