'Location, MOUQUET FARM. While our advanced strong point at 77 was isolated and without communication trench, he kept in continual touch with Company Headquarters. With consistent heroism, he time and again took Bombs, water and material to this post under very heavy fire, and thus only was this Post enabled to resist enemy counter attacks. Night 27th/28th August, 1916.'
