'During the 18 months Sergeant COFFEN has been Orderly Room Sergeant of the Battalion, he has rendered excellent service; particularly during period February to September, 1918. Operations have been numerous entailing considerable preparatory work. As Orderly Room Sergeant he has always been ready and effective in his sphere of duty.'
