Military Medal 'At POLYGON WOOD during the tour of the 58th Battalion in the line from 23/9/17 to 27/9/17 Corporal Andrews was in charge of company Lewis Gunners. During the heaviest bombardments he reorganised the teams when a number of the men had become casualties. he was slightly wounded on 24/9/17 but refused to leave the line until ordered to to so by the Medical Officer at 2p.m. 26th inst. His energy, courage, coolness and devotion to duty set a splendid example to his men and inspired them with the utmost confidence.'
