Military Medal 'At POZIERES, FRANCE on 22nd. August 1916 in broad daylight and under heavy Machine Gun fire and snipers, Cpl. COFFEY and Lieut. LYNCH went out 75 yards into No Mans Land for the purpose of rescuing Lieut. WALKER who was lying out in a shell crater severely wounded. After bandaging his wounds they carried Lieut. WALKER back into our trench. At the time this rescue was made messages were being received to the effect that the enemy was advancing on the right where the wounded man way lying.'
