War service: Egypt, Gallipoli Embarked Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force (Gallipoli Campaign), 5 April 1915. Wounded in action, 8 August 1915 (gun shot wound, shoulder and breast); transferred to Mudros, 10 August 1915; to England, 17 August 1915, and admitted to Endell Street Hospital, London, 31 August 1915. Pay stopped for 3 days (4-6 March 1916), while being treated for venereal disease (no further details recorded).
