Embarked Adelaide, 23 June 1917; admitted to Ship's Hospital, 3 July 1917 (venereal disease); discharged, 1 August 1917; total period of treatment for venereal disease: 30 days; disembarked Plymouth, England, 25 August 1917; marched into 11th Training Bn, Larkhill, 26 August 1917.

Marched into 10th Training Bn, Sutton Mandeville, 5 November 1917.

Proceeded overseas to France, 8 January 1918; marched into Australian Intermediate Base Depot, Le Havre, 9 January 1918.

Proceeded to unit, 11 January 1918; taken on strength of 43rd Bn, in the field, 13 January 1918.

Wounded in action, 26 May 1918, and admitted to No 49 Casualty Clearing Station the same day (gassed); discharged, 21 June 1918; rejoined unit, 22 June 1918.

Killed in action, 4 July 1918.

Buried by Reverend J.C. Flood at Vaux Cemetery.
