'At SUNRAY TRENCH in March, 1917, Lance Corporal COLLIER came under special notice. He was a Company Runner during the period from 6th to 8th March, 1917, when telephone communication was impossible. Through heavy shell and minewerfer fire he continuously carried messages to C.O.O., with absolute disregard for his own personal safety. He has always set a fine example of courage and coolness under fire.'
