Military Cross Source: 'Commonwealth Gazette' No. 165 Date: Bar to Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. owing to heavy hostile shelling, Brigade Headquarters were moved, and all lines to units had to be urgently linked up. This officer displayed remarkable energy and courage in carrying out the work, and also in restoring communication after the line had been broken in several poaces. He was out in heavy fire, and the area reeking with gas which nearly blinded him, but he stuck to his work.'
