Military Medal 'For devotion to duty and courageous action during an attack on enemy positions near MORLANCOURT on the night 5th/6th May, 1918. After skilfully and energetically assisting his platoon Commander in the difficult task of keeping correct direction on the right flank, he performed a most gallant action which undoubtedly saved the lives of most of his platoon. As the platoon was nearing its final objective an enemy machine gunner was seen to rush to his gun and swing it into action. Without hesitation Sergeant ANDREWS sprang forward at the gunner and shot him, opening the way for the capture of the gun and the garrison in the post, in all 3 Officers and 36 men.'
