Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry near Proyart on 23rd August 1918. When the enemy were still in possession and sniping from Robert Wood, he organized a party and mopped up the wood successfully, capturing eighteen prisoners and two minenwerfers. Throughout operations as battalion intelligence officer he rendered most useful service.'
