Taken on strength of 27th Bn from 3rd reinforcements, Gallipoli peninsula, 12 October 1915.

Admitted to 7th Field Ambulance, 23 October 1915 (deafness); transferred to 16th Casualty Clearing Station, 23 October 1915; to Mudros on board HS 'Formosa', 23 October 1915; to England, 25 October 1915, and admitted to Brook War Hospital, 9 November 1915.

Embarked Plymouth and commenced return to Australia on HT 'Euripides' for home service, 24 June 1916. Disembarked Adelaide and discharged on account of being medically unfit for continued service, 17 October 1916 (deafness and deformed left foot).
