Croix de Guerre (Belgium) Source: 'Commonwealth Gazette' No. 91 Date: Military Medal 'For gallantry and devotion during the attack near LE VERGUIER, 18th September 1918. As Transport Sergeant, he displayed great skill and brave determination in getting his limbers forward with ammunition and rations to the front line under heavy shell fire and exposed to heavy bombing from enemy aeroplanes. By his skilful coolness he saved many casualties and never once failed to get his ammunition etc. to its destination. He has given long and excellent service with the Battalion.'
