Military Medal 'On the night of 11th/12th February, 1917. Gunner CORNER was one of the crew of a Medium Trench Mortar supporting a raid of the 11th Infantry Brigade. Having got through the task the gunners sheltered from hostile fire under front parapet. Gunner CORNER looked over the parapet and seeing some of our infantry wounded in No Man's Land went out and carried two wounded back on his shoulders, and then assisted the raiding party in bringing back two more of the wounded. on this work of rescue he went out into No Man's Land four times under heavy enemy shell fire.'
