Admitted to 7th Field Ambulance, Tel-el-Kebir, 21 January 1916 (febricula); transferred to 2nd Australian General Hospital, Ghezireh, 26 Jnuary 1916 (ingrown toenails); to Convalescent Depot, Helouan, 3 February 1916 (malaria); discharged to duty, 10 February 1916; marched into Overseas Base, 10 February 1916; returned to duty, 6 March 1916. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 16 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 21 March 1916. Admitted to 6th Field Ambulance, France, 1 June 1916 (bullet wound, left knee); transferred to 8th Casualty Clearing Station, 1 June 1916; to Australian Hospital, Wimereux, 10 June 1916; to No 5 Convalescent Depot, 10 June 1916; to Base Details, Etaples, 18 June 1916.
