'This N.C.O. has served throughout the period 16th September/31st December 1918 and for the preceding year as a Brigade Scout. he has rendered valuable service as a guide, scout, observer, and billeting N.C.O. and his work has always been marked by accuracy, sound common sense and cheerfulness. It has been of the greatest assistance to the Brigade Staff to have such an N.C.O. at hand, who could always be relied upon to carry out any work entrusted to him.'
