Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty as intelligence officer during operations wet of Bellenglise on the 18th-19th September 1918. When the line was held up by heavy machine gun fire, he dashed forward, organized a party, and pushed forward to a sunken road, where he established posts under intense machine gun fire. It was owing to his fine work in assisting to organize the line that the position was held.'
