Admitted to Field Ambulance, Gallipoli, then transferred to Hospital Ship 'Oxfordshire', 12 December 1915; disembarked Alexandria, 15 December 1915 (conjunctivitis); admitted to No 1 Australian General Hospital, Heliopolis, 15 December 1915 (eye injury); transferred to Australian and New Zealand Hospital, Helouan, 19 December 1915; discharged to Australian Overseas Base, Ghezireh, 28 December 1915; transported to Tel el Kebir, 19 January 1916; rejoined unit, Tel el Kebir, 20 January 1916.

Found guilty, 28 January 1916, of breaking camp from Reveille, 26 January 1916, until Reveille, 28 January 1916: awarded 12 days' detention and forfeited 2 days' pay by Royal Warrant.
